YS 589 is a zirconia alumina belt on medium-duty Y-weight polyester with open coat, used for Hardwood Flooring processing where higher material removal and longer belt life against loading are the primary requirements. Open coat is the structurally correct choice for Hardwood Flooring: it does not sacrifice cut rate for packing density, and it sheds sawdust and old finish debris before the coat surface can build up — the failure mode that ends the working life of closed coat belts on this substrate.
