XS 581 is a zirconia alumina and premium aloxide blend belt on Y-weight polycotton with semi-open coat, for backstand and centreless grinding of mild steel, aluminium castings, and non-ferrous metals. Zirconia alumina is self-sharpening — the grain fractures under grinding pressure to expose a fresh cutting edge, maintaining aggressive cut rate throughout the belt life without the operator needing to increase pressure to compensate for a dulling surface.
