VR 599 Ceramic Resin Sander Disc with Top Coat

Good

The VR 599 is a ceramic aluminium oxide fiber disc with supersize Top Coat, built for heavy weld removal, deburring, and blending on stainless steel and mild steel where ordinary discs overheat and lose their cut. On a welded plate of mixed MS and SS under a 1550W angle grinder, VR 599 delivered 20% higher material removal than the competing disc — and came off the workpiece without burn marks. Ceramic grain self-sharpens under high contact pressure; the Top Coat prevents capping and keeps the grinding zone cool enough that the stainless surface stays clean.

Product Information

Features
- High-performance ceramic aluminium oxide grain on 0.8/0.85mm vulcanised fiber backing with supersize Top Coat and close coat
- Top Coat prevents capping and facilitates burn-free performance under high contact pressure sanding on SS and MS
- New Generation Resin Bond with better bonding strength
- grain stays anchored under the load of heavy weld removal and edge blending
- Available in 4", 4.5", 5", 7" for standard angle grinder compatibility
- wet and dry
Benefits
- Ceramic grain self-sharpens under high contact pressure
- cut rate stays consistent and aggressive across the full disc life, not just the first few passes
- Top Coat keeps the grinding interface cool enough that stainless steel weld beads and adjacent heat-affected zones don't discolour
- even under sustained high-pressure sanding
- New Generation Resin Bond prevents grain pull-out on heavy weld removal
- disc integrity maintained through the hardest part of the job
- 20% higher material removal on MS and SS weld applications tested at 11,500 RPM
- more material removed, fewer disc changes per shift
Advantage
- Tested robotically on SS/MS weld plate at 11,500 RPM: 20% higher material removal than the competing disc
- the performance gap shows on the component count per disc, not just on the feel of the grind
- Burn-free performance under high contact pressure is the specification reason for VR 599 on stainless
- heat tint on SS weld zones is a rejection event that an ordinary ceramic disc doesn't prevent
- Supersize Top Coat extends disc life beyond standard ceramic discs on sustained heavy grinding
- lower disc consumption per shift
